If you’ve lived in Raleigh for any amount of time
you’ll notice that the weather can change drastically
from one day to the other.
Like how one day it’s a sunny 64 degrees outside
and the next day it snows.
So it comes as no surprise
that although the temperature remains cool
we’re longing for the days of spring with highs of 75.
How to get the best of both worlds?
Dress in cozy ensembles with vivid color combinations!
We’re obsessed with brightly colored sweaters. They add warmth when layered over a button up and look cute with hiking-inspired booties!
Just because one piece is super bright doesn’t mean everything else has to be neutral. A great way to work with color is using a monochromatic color scheme: pair different shades or tints of the same basic color; like lavender, plum, and magenta! A splash of white keeps the look fresh and feeling of spring.
If you’re not in to layering, pick a piece with a fun print and choose the brightest hue to accent the ensemble. We love a combo of kelly green and aqua! With black as the neutral, the look is vibrant while remaining seasonal.
You can be colorful in the office, too! “Professional” doesn’t mean stuffy black suits; it means dressing well and holding yourself with confidence. We love this Lilly Pulitzer blazer with its subtle colors. Complement a print of analogous colors (those beside each other on the color wheel) with an iridescent fabrics that picks up on the tones. This outfit is vivacious and sophisticated!
